Population: over 1,300

Turner Valley is 30 miles (48 km.) south west of Calgary, with connections on highways 7, and 22. Its major economic base is agriculture and natural gas processing.

When oil was being discovered in other areas of Alberta, Turner Valley was not to be left out. It was also one of the early discovery sites and was known as "Hell's Half Acre".

Being located near the gateway to Kananaskis Country, Turner Valley offers outdoor enthusiasts a wide variety of activities. Just a short drive away is an area that offers excellent hiking, cross-country skiing, rock climbing, camping, fishing, rafting, canoeing, wildlife viewing, as well as the breathtaking scenery of the area.
