National Library's Canadian Confederation : Welcome to the National Library's newly expanded and redesigned Canadian Confederation website, which tells the story of how Canada came to be, from the original four provinces in 1867 to the present. Historical essays showcase documents, articles and photographs of the people, places and events that have shaped our country. The site features material from the collection of the National Library of Canada, including a number of rare items that would otherwise be difficult to access.

HyperHistory on line: Just what it says, from 1000 B.C. to the present. Excellent.

History on Line: The History on line page is a project started by Jim Perry for his grade 7 History class. The main spotlight of the site is to get students involved in an archaeological dig and a project that are extensively shown on web sites. An other main resource at the site is a large collection of links to historical sites on line. Subjects include: History Resources, Ancient Civilizations, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Medieval Times, Exploration and Discovery, Colonial America, American Revolution, Ancient Coins. Some of the link pages are annotated and some are not.

Index of Resources for Historians: A HUGE hot list (about 1800 links, file size about 200K) which takes time to load but is well worth the wait. Links are listed in alphabetical order by subject area, with history as an organizing theme but with lots of interesting links only loosely related to history. Links range from Africa: African Art Graphics Files (first) to: Travel: Internet Grid; Hotel Anywhere (random pick from the list} -currently inter links over 27,000 separate travel related web sites with over 1000 sites being added weekly) to World Weather: Comprehensive Weather Server (last).

Women in Canadian History: Historian Susan Merritt has created "Women in Canadian History: Canadian History by the Byte!". Merritt offers a Web page focusing on the role of women in Canadian history. Merritt profiles a "Woman of the Week" from Canada's past, who has impacted on Canadian history The site also includes a History Trivia Question, Interesting Quotes from Women around the World (including an archive of past quotes), and a list of Coming Events in the field of Women in History.
