The Black Cat Guest Ranch in the Canadian |

The Black Cat Guest Ranch is a great place to get away for a few days of winter R & R. Go for a hike, or cross-country ski along one of our many marked trails. After a long day on the trails, relax around the fire, or sit out in the gazebo and look at the mountains and stars.
With global warming becoming a reality rather than a theory, we have seen very warm dry winters for the last several years. We have had great hiking but cross-country skiing has been very limited. But, we have had enough snow this year to groom trails for the first time in about 8 years!
For those who would like to do some more challenging skiing, we are only 20 minutes from the Athabasca Nordic Centre, home of the 1994 World Cup Biathlon. Due to location, weather patterns and elevation, the Nordic Centre has managed to maintain most of their trails through the main part of these dry winters. This is a world class facility, built to Olympic race requirements. These trails are either going up or coming down! Be prepared for a good workout and a real challenge.
If you are not up to a long workout on the trails, the Black Cat Ranch is a great place in winter to just sit around the fire, curl up with a good book, and forget about the hustle and bustle of city life for a while. Come join us if you are in need of a little 'R & R' in a quiet mountain setting.
