The Garneau Clan represents diverse cultures with fundamentally different Principles, Beliefs and Values.
I didn't have ancestors from Asia, but their history
influenced European culture, so it is included in this section.

Nothing unites the English like war - Hugh Mills.
A people that values its' privileges above its' principles, soon loses both.

Within this tradition are minor variations between the various aboriginal
tribes of Europe.
As I was creating the Indian and Metis sections of this study
I couldn't avoid noticing two fundamentally different cultures between the Indian and
European.
As I was tracking the evolving culture of the Metis I was forced to research these
differences.
Culture is our
collection of assumptions that we apply to life, living and our pursuit of activities.
In short:
Culture is a way of living our life.
Culture is our way of viewing things.
Culture is our way of communicating.
Culture is driven by our Principles, Beliefs and Values they determine our perceptions,
attitudes, expectations, language,
our Systems, the very interactions and patterns of our existence.
Beliefs are basic 'assumptions' of right and wrong.
Beliefs and values shape and mold a culture more than any other factor.
They however should not be accepted as true without definitive proof.
Values on the other hand are important viewpoints or references for ways of doing things.
Marshall McLuhan in the early 1970's observed that:
The electric media constitute a total and
near instantaneous transformation of culture, values and attitudes

The absence of European beliefs and values in the Peoples culture
is seen as evidence of the inferiority of the people of
America.
Europeans believed in annihilation or assimilation
they have little room for accommodation.
The Europeans after centuries of war believed that might is right
military superiority has the right to destroy other cultures.
It is noteworthy that the original Aboriginal Peoples of Europe were MATERNAL in belief.
The question becomes WHEN and WHY did Europe and the Middle East deviate from their
own roots.
