1836 SAULT STE MARIE. MICHIGAN

September 4, 1836 half breed census lists the Sault Ste Marie Gornow clan as follows:

Louis Gornow, b-1790        age 46 1/2 blood living Sault Ste Marie since 1826
Archange Cadotte, b-1798  age 38 1/4 blood living Sault Ste Marie since 1806 (wife)
John Gornow, b-1821         age 15 1/4 blood born Sault Ste Marie
Lennet Gornow, b-1823      age 13 1/4 blood born Sault Ste Marie
Simon Gornow, b-1825       age 11 1/4 blood born Sault Ste Marie
Edward Gornow, b-1827     age 9 1/4 blood born Sault Ste Marie
Archange Gornow, b-1828   age 8 1/4 blood born Sault Ste Marie
Charlotte Gornow, b-1830   age 6 1/4 blood born Sault Ste Marie
Eli Gornow, b-1832             age 4 1/4 blood born Sault Ste Marie
Polly Gornow, b-1835          age 1 1/4 blood born Sault Ste Marie

This argues for a marriage of 1820 vs. 1826/27 or a country marriage vs. church marriage.  It could also imply a bigamist relationship vis-à-vis, Louis first marriage 1809 or 1815.  It is assumed the older children of Louis Gornow are living in La Pointe, Wisconsin at this time, likely with their mother(s).  Another possibility to consider is that Louis Gornow may have had three wives causing this confusion.
