This argues for a marriage of 1820 vs. 1826/27 or a country marriage vs. church marriage. It could also imply a bigamist relationship vis-à-vis, Louis first marriage 1809 or 1815. It is assumed the older children of Louis Gornow are living in La Pointe, Wisconsin at this time, likely with their mother(s). Another possibility to consider is that Louis Gornow may have had three wives causing this confusion.

He is living and received the script under No. 29C May 11, 1864 and applied the script, January 10, 1865, to N 1/2 of NW 1/4 section 21 township 45 range 2W Bayfield, Wisconsin range and range number 139, date of patent May 10, 1865. Under Treaty No. 220 Francois Gurnoe according to Michigan treaty July 31, 1855 selected a land grant of S 1/2 of SW section 24, township 47 range 5W, Michigan.
